SON PROJET, C’EST NOUS
_
“Simone Veil, known internationally for her commitment to politics as well as to women’s and social rights and a highly popular figure in France, made a gr and entrance at the official ceremony of the Académie Française on Thursday 18th March 2010. L’Académie Française was established in 1635 and is composed of forty members known as immortals who are the national authority of the French language in charge amongst others of the official dictionary. Based on this sketch by Karl Lagerfeld, the jacket was tailored at the Chanel Ateliers before being sent to Maison Lesage for the finishing embroidery. It required 250 hours of workmanship, not to mention the 850 hours spent on the embroidery. Elegantly attired in a @Chanelofficial jacket with green embroidery designed specially for her by #KarlLagerfeld, the blouse and long skirt in silk crepe represented 210 and 180 hours of work respectively, making a total of 1490 hours of skilled work to create the garments worn by Simone Veil on this his toric day on which she became the "sixth immortal” at the prestigious establishment.“ #Chanel. She lived fiercely and identified with the underclass on the benches of the Palais Bourbon; experienced outrage amongst politicians for defending women’s right in favour of abortion never quitting; was a thinker who became suspicious of the intellect yet wrote to raise awarenesses; rallied against violence, holocaust and war; and if either of one us, women and men, had had her way, we would all live simpler, classier, more communitarian lives than modern societies of today’s. She left us, today, reflecting on the values of courage, loyalty, humility and humanity. #SimoneVeil was the absolute pilgrim and the pilgrim of absolute. "Il y a encore tant à faire pour les femmes…” Belle et rebelle, #RIP gr ande dame d’âme ??
