Not long ago, @NicoleColovos and @MichaelColovos, the gifted co-direc tors showed @Colovosofficial Fall 2016 @NYFW. They were labelled “New Designer to Watch In NYC” blablabla, while their milage is of veterans. The married duo served as #HelmutLang’s 2007 co-creative direc tors for eight years before winning the 2014 @CFDA’s first emerging designer prize for their denim line #Habitual. Even before, Nicole polished her eye for style as a former fashion edi tor @Elle and @HarpersBazaar while Michael honed his technical mastery in skate culture as well as, a spaniard-born, his architectural mastery in Italy. Aparté about #Spain. In my purview, hailing from Don Cristóbal @Balenciaga to @JosepFontc’s @Delpozo, pausing by #ElenaMartin @MartinLamotheofficial or Doña @AgathaRuizDLaPrada, #España is the unrivalled capital of innate-deconstruction of #regal reconstruction. Regal. Not Loppa. Dame Linda (Loppa) groomed her #Antwerp Six extra-ordinaires by breeding artiness (the one of #NicoleColovos) and experimental in to their visions. Two countries. Two minimalisms. And don’t start me on Japan, #JilS ander or @ChalayanStudio. Minimalism is plural.

So, I found myself unaffected by the unnecessary chaotic genres until I immersed myself in the exquisitely simpli-phisticated easy haute street silhouettes of #Colovos. The beauty is found in the subtle palette, intricate but toning, and craft ambiguity to declutter elegancias unlike so many here in #NYC. Colovos contains 7 letters – 42.86% vowels and 57.14% consonants. But it was clear from the buzz that attended Colovos’s final bow onstage that a 100% of the audience had come to realize that not gilding the lily is the new panache. If the minimalism was high ( and bankable) in the early 90’s, then dismissed by @Dior leading glam, the freshness and the excitement of #Colovos approach is leading, inevitably, to label them a new hope for minimalism. Michael and Nicole underst and the fabrics, where the verses and choruses fall, how solos color. Together they are spidering out aesthetic arpeggios, dashing modernity and deep chromatic denims. Neo. Minimalismo. ?
