Requiem romancé by #ReiKawakubo chez #COMMEdesGARCONS. That is, Dame Kawakubo focuses back on black. A return to the origins. She escaped from the huge shaping that was seen in recent years offering a tough, uncompromising, tailored silhouette in black and stiff leathers. Trench-style and military coats, with an industrial finish, were high-collared, high-hooded and tightly-belted. Yet, the stiffness was sweet. Rei showed us her softest, almost romantic side yet. Silhouettes of nuns-in-mutantes were more fluid when you look past the blackness. There was even ruffles, sheer fabrics and romantic layering and vibrant colouring. I felt the concept was the same as the one of HOMME PLUS #AW19 as well as a gothic #GarethPugh feel to it. Leather is the colour. Leather is the cooler. Different lines of gender created by Mrs. #Kawakubo were led by noirs macabres and were consolidated into one. One with two, that credo lives. This fashion funérailles can only be celebrated by @CommedesGarcons. Rest in panache.
