WITHIN THE TIME WITHIN
_ Inspired by the deteriorated interiors of eighteenth century Portuguese palaces, manor houses and garments from the same period, in her new collection, @Alex andra.Moura, who continues collection after collection to leverage splendeurs of Portuguese his torical épopées – her F/W 11/18 was about the intercultural dialogue with the Colonial Portugal in the Timor-Leste of the XVIII century – explored the concept of the ageing process to focus on the signs that it leaves behind. Traces of time gone by are reinterpreted and brought to us in the form of specific finishes and the misrepresentation of what is used on the inside and outside materializing it through a sport-ample sar toria approach that brings the inside out and reveals the soul and glory of the past. The subtle and romantic details are combined with a contrast of a high-tech deconstruction . A combination of striking oversized and fitted shapes created opposites in silhouette, teamed with laces and pockets forming statement looks with potent his torical nods. Injections of a relaxed urban flavour combined knits with sophisticated textures, tulle and brocade, linen and cot ton, establishing, once more, in #Alex andraMoura’s #SS18 a nostalgic wink between classic and contemporary. Colors romanticized tones of ecru alongside variant shades of black, with red emerging in a bold jacquard pattern – present too in the #FW1718 – with floral motifs, inspired by delicate wallpapers.
