The #concepts tore of #Alex andraMoura strikes by its originality: an apartment en couloir. The whiteness of the corri dor, compartmented in 4 areas: welcome display, the cashier, the changing room and the accessories backend give the boutique-corri dor both calmness and inspiration. All is encastré, yet all feels évasé. Then you reach the courtyard: her clothes are not hanging but performing. Their stillness is luring. I found myself reminiscing about #MartinMargiela’s #Denim #Leather #AW1998/99 with its breasted coats, and versatile hems. Iconoclastic, avant-garde and experimental, #Alex andraMoura expresses her creativity through transformation and reinterpretation. “The other is me.“ is her mot to. Opposed to fashion st andards, she seems to bend the commercial flow. Ambiguity, trompe l’œil, specialised technique, purity, minimalism, simplicity, the rejection of surplus; the garments play with volume, modified shapes and use, masculine, feminine, oversized, undersized, deconstruction, reconstruction and transformation. Her uncompromising codes, are portrayed in casually feminine, contemporary cuts and prints. Conceptual basics blend with unique fabrics like the #Denim or #Neoprene treatments to create a distinctive everyday wardrobe. Forms follow function chez #Alex andraMoura. Eccentricity too.
