PER UN PUGNO DI #DOLCEGABBANA

Not like the Western spaghetti’s that preceded it, it was clear right from the opening of this #SicilianWestern that #DolceGabbana were not interested in simply imitating American Western conventions. The #FW16 opened with a background of a blood-red desert, creating an almost psychedelic effect and immediately setting the tone for #SergioLeone’s fantasy vision, with one foot in his tory and the other in #Sicily (not #Hollywood) dreams. The runway resounded to the sound of gun-shots and #EnnioMorricone’s distinctive music, strikingly different to the orchestral scores and hokey renditions of folk songs that had characterised the soundtracks of American Westerns up to that time. Ironically, the models invited the guests for pictures and selfies at the behest of the designers, which are great #digitalpushers. A legal document for privacy was made available to avoid any misunderst andings ?. As sar torial perpetua tors of #Italy’s Italianità, #DomenicoDolce and @StefanoGabbana showcased another ode nationalist wardrobe embracing within it their admiration of surrealist art, and it is perhaps no coincidence that the Sicilian salutes of this #FallWestern 2016 are the same arid dreamscapes #Salva dorDali employed in many of his nightmarish images of the 1930s. This @DolceGabbana was constructed in a way that was worthy of the great surrealist painters. Bravura bon ton per una moda rusticana di uomini d’onore. J’a dore !
