SETTE SENTIERI SUL ZERO

#PierfrancescoGigliotti and #MaurizioModica wanted to tell a more introspective s tory with @PIERMAU_official. After affirming #FrankieMorello as a noticeable Maison of Italian Gioventù, they came to the #MFW16 with #Piermau, a br and named after not only their souls, but also their names. The designers brought a #FW16 as deeply spiritual as savvily cerebral. It was an obvious choice to start with a symbol of regeneration, resurrection, purification, and search for self: #ZERO.

As starting point, both end and beginning, neutrality containing the whole, Zero fulfillment is also tangible in a clean, lean, linear, complete and consistent collection that talks to our sensitivity, by taints from conceptual art. Contemporary art by artist @MustafaSabbagh talked to PIERMAU sealing their partnership official by introducing seven videos that transformed the space. Inner images and striking sounds were cued to push the audience in to a twisted symphony, ranging from classical to Flemish nature, from a Baroque-fetish portrait of the designers to the traditional no color of Sabbagh. In the end, we discovered the performers wearing symbolic outfits where Zero was in every meaning.

Zero as the number containing all the numbers. PIERMAU used shapes and numbers as a mean of expression; made of seven letters and seven are the color stripes of the rainbow st anding out on tags and cards, hence the seven videos. Zero, too, as a circle that represents the symbol of Pierfrancesco and Maurizio when it’s printed next to a triangle on clothes. Zero as the starting point of a progression of collections following one another, named by growing numbers. They change the normal seasonality rules and are shown as a continuum of clothes. Zero as the first layer, since the clothing and accessories collections are made of layers – jewels by #SharraPagano, shoes by IHM Italian Holding Moda – the overlapping layers breeding in multiple aesthetics, as much as a zero next to another number changes its essence. Fashion meets Art at ZERO with PIERMAU for seven senses of possibility.
