This year the Met Costume Institute Gala, 2012 was all about who can sparkle hardest, as the celebrities slip in to futuristic gold and platinum fabrics.

There was too much sameness. The celebs seems to have only a desire for more of this sameness. Incredibly boring since they have access to the finest of the fine.

Yet when Ms. Win tour, in a stunningly white Prada tonight, stated years ago that Karolina Kurkova was the next super top model, she was appealing to the “personality meets the beauté”.

Tonight Rachel Zoe’s Ambassa dor-a proved that to be different is to be alone on the pedestal every fashion able woman dream about.

The dames d’honneur were panache.

January Jones paired her lovely yellow Versace dress with Cartier jewels. The Queen-a-Del Rey was ravishing in a Joseph Altuzarra dress and cape de glamour. Eva Mendes was prestige tangerine in her Prada couture-de-fruits: a tribute to Spring.

All winking to Summer.

The best rouge-à-lèvres? Kate Up ton, one of the L’Wren Scott.istas.

The best poise ( and couple)? Givenchy Gisele et chéri ..
