Roma, 1959 | Monsieur Valentino

I will sew my words to congratulate Mr. Valentino on his 80th birthday today May 11, 2012 in italian and french too; as he liked to speak-mix in the three langues vivantes.

Tra gli stilisti più conosciuti al mon do spicca Valentino. Nel 1996 al gr ande stilista di Voghera viene conferi to il ti tolo di Cavaliere del Lavoro dall’allora presidente della Repubblica Italiana Oscar Luigi Scalfaro. Valentino, oltre ad aver crea to per oltre 30 anni gr ande moda, è riusci to a creare l’impossibile, è riusci to a creare un colore: Il colore rosso di Valentino insieme al rosso Ferrari sono i due colori più conosciuti al mon do e tali colori sono sempre presenti nelle sue sfilate di moda in giro per il mon do. Nel 2002 l’azienda Valentino viene venduta al leader mondiale del set tore tessile, il Permira, una private equity firm, che gli unisce il marchio tedesco Hugo Boss.

Only a few years after opening his fashion house in Rome in 1959, Valentino was already at the height of success, counting Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, and Audrey Hepburn among his devotees. Valentino has always designed clothes for glamorous and sophisticated women, never wavering from his signature style even when grunge, deconstruction, and other passing fads were all the rage.

Last Valentino’s birthday is also a tribute to Monsieur Giancarlo Giammetti fedeltà. La poesia e nel legame, simbolisata con questa dédicace d’Yves Saint Laurent à Pierre Bergé pour ses 57 ans: “Sans toi, je ne serais peut-être pas celui que je suis. Sans moi je ne l’espère pas mais je le pense, tu ne serais pas ce que tu es. Ce gr and aigle à deux têtes qui cingle les mers, dépasse les frontières, envahit le monde, de son envergure sans pareil.
