After this #ValentinoHauteCouture #SpringSummer19 Collection by #PierpaoloPiccioli and after Mr. Piccioli started his tenure as the sole creative director chez #MaisonValentino, he sewed inclusivity patiently at all levels. All of them. One by one. In the last 3 years, he preached his philosophy of inclusivity by kind sharing and soft leading. He included his seamstresses and stylists. He included his models in their diversities. He included his mentors and founders @realMrValentino and @GiancarloGiammetti. All into the circle of humanity. To witness Mr. Garavani, the Emperor embracing Mr. Piccioli’s work as a swift alter creative ego, is a premiere in the world of fashion. Imagine, Cristóbal Balenciaga sitting front row witnessing a #couture collection of his eponymous house by .. #HubertdeGivenchy or #EmmanuelUngaro. That’s how meaningfully this flamboyant torch is burning at #Valentino today. Une première because it’s done viva voce not post mortem. In three years, Pierpaolo Piccioli just sequinned, with gusto and relevancy, a neo millennial modernisme treasuring the past while looking into the future. Today, the house, in my humble purview, holds the sceptre held by Christian @Dior, back in the heydays of couture. Why? Some collections aren’t revelations, exactly, but they burrow so deeply into old truths about fashion and couture and the poetry and tears of love, panache and luxe, they seem new anyway. That’s what @PpPiccioli is doing @MaisonValentino. Tranquil kindness wins.
