If #Surrealism was a 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature which sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind, for example by the irrational juxtaposition of images. #Surclassism is an avant-garde proposition which sought to release the creative potential of the classic couture construction and mythology of fairy tales not only by the amalgamation of genres – l’habillé of coats décliné delectably in evening’s spirit – but also by the harnessing of fabrics gravitas. Leathers seemed feathers in their souplesse. Tulles has an impeccable tombé. #SarahBur ton is already well known as a master of couture ingenuity but this @WorldMcQueen presented her in a streamlined light. Hers is a beyond surrealist kalei doscope. The quilted satin embroidered coat, the Surrealist tulle diamante embroidered gown, the h and-painted flowers on leather, or the Sarab ande lace gown amongst other merveilles made a buoyant #AW16. It blended the most likable aspects of @AzzedineAlaiaofficial’s sar toria, @ElieSaabWorld aerie and #ReiKawakubo @CommedesGarcons black ease and sends them off to truculence in the macabre of #Alex anderMcQueen. It stamps the unmistakable #Bur ton sensibility on to every reinvention with the utmost delight for all the heartbeats we have left. Pause. Gr andiose greets une gr ande: Sarah Jane Bur ton, née Heard. Every model was a collection per se, a torch in the darkness, as darkness followed her like its only hope.
