#Fashion can be quite limited because it’s only clothes. But if it’s not the garments, it’s the environment and the way it engages with the garments and makes it do certain things it wouldn’t do otherwise, then fashion can be a stage for displacement. So the paper dissolving in to dresses @ChalayanStudio #SS16 because of the rain – simulated by a cold shower on the catwalk – was simply a way of thinking about our style in a different way. A mère nature way. Besides the theatricality of his talent, #HusseinChalayan translated next season’ sar torial wardrobe in to wearable, desirable minimalistic pieces, where the precise cut was honed to within a millimetre of a seam. All in a safari- to-earth palette. Génial.
