La collection de RickOwens retrace le film et l’his toire véridique du sous-marin français Casabianca, sous les ordres du capitaine de corvette Jean l’Herminier. Le 27 novembre 1942, le Casabianca s’échappa de Toulon préférant continuer la guerre avec les alliés, plutôt que de se saborder avec le reste de la flotte française. Il rallia Alger puis participa au ravitaillement des maquis corses, permettant à l’île de se libérer en septembre 1943.
Rick Owens fashion was about naval attitudes and uniforms, reinterpreting ones of French submarine Casabianca which escaped from the German-occupied port of Toulon in 1944, and, after many adventures, participates in the liberation of Corsica. The palette was in blacks, grays, and greiges. Leather coats, cable knitted jumpsuits and sahara drapes were amongst an airy no-underwear wardrobe. I particularly enjoyed his 3D en trompe l’oeil stripes printing, offing us from his monochromactic noir tout noir moods.
