#FRANCESCOROSI
Celebrating a rich his tory influenced by film, #Gucci is proud to support The Film Foundation’s efforts to save cinematic treasures. Created in 1990 by Martin Scorsese, The Film Foundation (film-foundation.org) is dedicated to protecting and preserving motion picture his tory. Starting in 2006, @Gucci has committed to add one film every year to a growing collection of res tored titles and has presented them at international film festivals around the world. (1972) directed by #FrancescoRosi was res tored @CinetecaBologna preservation facility, L’Immagine Ritrovata, using original camera negatives and vintage prints. Mold growth was detected on the original elements, which caused emulsion damage. The mold also damaged the picture with visible yellow stains, which were difficult to eliminate digitally, so the first-generation interpositive was used in those areas. #FrancescoRosi, known for his trenchant documentaries and exposes died today in Rome. He was 92. Rosi gained international fame with his 1962 film #Salva toreGiuliano about the Sicilian gangster. Ten years later #TheMatteiAffair investigating the mysterious death of an Italian oil magnate earned Rosi the Gr and Prix @FestivalCannes – His 1981 film #ThreeBrothers was nominated for @TheAcademy award for best foreign language film.
