MILAN | Diane Pernet’s Cinémoda: ASVOFF MILANO

In occasione della Settimana della Moda Uomo, torna a Milano per la seconda edizione il primo Festival Internazionale di Cinema e di Moda fonda to da Diane Pernet. ASVOFF Milano è promosso da NABA in collaborazione con Vogue.it, ArtEventi, con il patrocinio del – Assessora to Moda Eventi Expo, e cura to e organizza to da Federico Poletti e Stefania Seoni.

Celebrating “destiny” as its theme, the short film contest for ASVOFF Milan 2012 was launched as an ‘open call’ several months ago by Diane Pernet on her blog ASVOF www.asvof.com. Films selected for competition are limited to one minute in length and explore a diverse range of perspectives on destiny. Explaining how the theme came about, Diane says: “Destiny is interesting here because, like fashion, it can be fuelled by both the exceptionally trivial and the hugely profound. At the same time, it’s also a very personal concept and one that’s pretty puzzling for most people – yet strangely revealing too. So all this mirrors fashion in a way. And if you think of life as one big film, then destiny is that slippery moment just after the projection of the final frame. The cinema goes black and the audience holds its breath as the credits begin to roll. No one really knows what destiny looks like because it only appears after we’ve expired. But that doesn’t necessarily mean we shouldn’t ponder it. Or try to shape it.”

Tra i protagonisti dell’iniziativa figurano artisti, registi e fo tografi di rilievo internazionale, tra cui Chris Cunningham, Nick Knight, Erwin Olaf, Ryan McGinley Steven Meisel, Bruce Weber; celebrities come Tilda Swin ton, Kate Moss, Daphne Guinness, Drew Barrymore, Dita Von Teese, Faye Dunaway, br and internazionali come Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Comme des Garçons, Hermès, Martin Margiela, Lanvin, Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Sergio Rossi. ASVOFF Milano si terrà in contemporanea con la Settimana della Moda Uomo, una giuria composta da critici cinema tografici, giornalisti, creativi e addetti al lavori selezionerà i corti migliori, che saranno pubblicati sul si to VOGUE.IT e premiati durante la cerimonia di apertura del Festival.

The Milan edition includes a special selection of fashion films and documentaries, including a series of videos produced by Bruce Weber, a video tribute directed by the Gianfranco Ferrè Foundation to celebrate the designer’s memory featuring the finale from his most spectacular catwalk shows, and a ‘Best of ASVOFF’ series from past editions of this captivating fashion film festival.
