Copenhagen | Baum und Pferdgarten SS 2012

The Spring-Summer Collection 2012 by Baum und Pferdgarten is caracterized by a distinct focus on print, bold combinations of block colors, and a playful use of striping. The collection is inspired by the late sixtie´s movie The Graduate and the contrast between the seductive and sophisticated Mrs. Robinson and the casual femininity of her young daughter Elaine. The combination of the two complete opposite looks creates a hybrid of essentials, wich captures the essence and complexity of the future woman´s wardrobe.

The company was founded by the two designers Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave in January 1999. Now ten years later the br and is available in more than 20 countries worldwide and leading boutiques and department s tores offer the collections to women in metropolitans as Copenhagen, Lon don, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

The creative manifest of Baum und Pferdgarten is to differ from the masses both in design and in process. The designer duo is known for not compromising on quality or esthetics – the high quality is reflected in both the fabrics as well as in the attention to detail and craftsmanship in the manufacturing. The collections from Baum und Pferdgarten give women an opportunity to express themselves individually by offering a combination of classic styles and avant-garde pieces which can be mixed accordingly to the individual taste or occasion. 

Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave like to approach their designs with a touch of irony and humor – and hence their signature is somewhere in between harmony and quirky playfulness. Elegant, but sporty. Sporty, but sophisticated and futuristic. This is the 1960’s Baum und Pferdgarten Spring-Summer 2012.
