NEW DEAUVILLE AND PATOU PANACHE
_

#Deauville is a seaside resort town in the lower Normandy region of France. Its position on the Atlantic coast and its close proximity to Paris attract wealthy guests from around the globe.
So there’s a certain flashiness when we saw womenswear at the #TomFordSS19 — Paris-Texas-inspired—with a certain nostalgia feel: very chic, very classic, very luxe. Reminiscences of Madame Grès, Jeanne Lanvin, and Yves Saint Laurent’s Betty Catroux. Monsieur Ford tried the excess, extravagance and elegance all in one new Deauville blow. It worked halfway, suitable for the kind of #Texas wealthy housewives of #TomFord’s childhood in #Austin. I enjoyed better his bold sartoriale stand on menswear. The ever panache of Monsieur Jean Patou lost in Proust’s “In Search of Lost Time” or “The Great [Gangsta] Gatsby.” The Gigi-and-Kaia’s alongside androgyne Ragazzi di [Dolce] Vita walked through the runway modelling the clothing to advertise the brand name. Tom is obsessed with Ford. Un phénomène. We are far from his #Gucci decade with its sex 2003 ad campaign, which showed a G shaved into model Carmen Kass’s pubic hair. Pubic Enemy came when the internet was still a bit in its infancy, and fashion images were not seen immediately from instagram stories. I miss 1994 Tom Ford.
